It was 1st vs 2nd in the league over the weekend. A fast and furious 90 minutes saw some great football. Arsenal with a miserable season last season finishing 11th, are looking much more like the Arsenal we know. Thierry Henry and co were unable to put anything past Reading keeper Carini who came to the rescue a few times with some great save and good positioning. Ben-Hatira hit the only goal of the game cutting in from the left hand side and slotting in the far low corner. The defeat for Arsenal has allowed Manchester United move up to 3rd place while Arsenal slip down to 5th.

It wasn't an easy weekend for either Manchester United or Liverpool. Liverpool barely squeezed past a tough Bolton side at the Reebok this weekend thanks to a goal by top scorer Adrian Mutu.

On the other hand, United looked to get back on track against Everton at OLd Trafford but it wasn't to be their day. Cristiano Ronaldo and Gilardino miss firing cost the red devils as Everton snatched a late winner. United boss insists the season is far from over and wants to take European competition much more seriously this season also.

PES United beat a struggling Aston Villa side over the weekend to not only jump out of the relegation zone but claim their first ever win and points in the top flight.
​
However the team are far from safety as it's taken until game week 6 to find their first points of the season. The United manager says that it will be a long season ahead with 24 games remaining but this is a start.
